Artue, a global AI-powered art platform, was introduced as a flagship example of innovative AI platforms from Korea during the keynote session at the OpenAI Korea Launch event held at Pie Factory in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul on September 11.
Operated by art-tech company Habitus Associates (founded by Bo Young Song), Artue was presented as an Korean startup partner of OpenAI and recognized as a pioneering case in the convergence of art and artificial intelligence.
During the keynote session on the second day of the three-day event (September 10–12), OpenAI COO Brad Lightcap spotlighted Artue as a representative collaboration case, how ChatGPT is being applied to reinvent entire industries.
Among the 12 Korean partner companies featured—including GS, Toss, LG Electronics, LG Uplus, Krafton, Kakao, KT, Yanolja, Cafe24, Tving, and SK Telecom—Artue stood out as the only startup, receiving significant attention as a leading startup example.
Artue integrates an AI-based personalized curation engine with digital twin technology to facilitate the discovery and transaction of artworks, aiming to digitally transform the global art ecosystem.
In particular, Artue is the world’s first platform to adopt ChatGPT for interactive art search, allowing users to explore artworks in natural language. For example, users can type phrases like “a heartwarming painting” in the search bar, and the platform interprets their emotions and intent to recommend fitting artworks.
“The convergence of AI and art is no longer a mere experiment in technology—it is becoming the new standard for the global art market. The introduction of Artue at OpenAI’s Korea launch event marks a symbolic moment, demonstrating that a Korea-born art-tech company can take leadership on the world stage.”— Bo Young Song, Founder/ CEO, Habitus Associates
Currently, Artue is advancing its technology through enhanced AI search and recommendation systems, digital asset authentication and expanding onto smart TV platforms. It is also pursuing global growth with a focus on the North American market.
