According to a sample survey of Korean smartphone users (Android + iOS), 73% of Korean smartphone users use mobility apps as of December last year.
The number of unique smartphone users who used mobility apps at least once in December was 37.27 million, spending an average of 1 hour and 53 minutes per person and launching 59 times.
The number of unique users of mobility apps increased from 29.18 million in December 2019, before the pandemic, to 26.72 million in 2020 due to the pandemic, but has steadily increased over the past three years, from 2021 to the latest, reaching 37.27 million last December, or 73 per cent of South Korean smartphone users.
The most-used mapping app last year was Naver Maps, with an average of 25.07 million monthly users. The most used navigation app was T Map, with an average of 11.95 million monthly users, and the most used taxi hailing app was Kakao T, with an average of 10.87 million monthly users.
The survey was conducted by app/retail analytics service WiseApp·Retail·Goods among a sample of Korean Android and iOS smartphone users.
