Korea’s second largest telecom operator, KT, partnered with Cloudike to launch a public cloud solution for SMBs via its Ucloud business platform.
Cloudike is a B2B2C, white-label cloud solution that delivers superior cloud-based file sharing and storage services, developed by ASD Technologies. By utilizing locally located servers and networks, Cloudike is able to offer faster cloud-based services at a more affordable price for startups and SMBs (Small and Medium Businesses).
“We are excited because this is the first time for us to provide Cloudike in the form of public cloud SaaS (Software-as-a-Service),” said SunUng Lee, CEO of ASD Korea. He continued, “Taking advantage of KT’s strong cloud infrastructure, we can provide local startups and SMBs with a cloud-based file sharing and storage service that is affordable, and over 10 times faster than Dropbox or Google Drive.”
“Our new partnership with ASD Technlogies is beneficial for both KT and its partners. It will enable us to focus on developing infrastructure and hardware, which involves large scale investment and heavy expenditure, while local startups and SMBs concentrate on developing software, which requires leniency and creativity,” said a KT company spokesperson.
Cloud-based file sharing and storage services are much needed for SMBs, who are frequently engaged in collaborative works and partnerships. Cloudike will provide them with a powerful and affordable solution to download cloud-based files safely. The service replaces the need to send emails with large attachments, by providing secure links to file destinations in the cloud. With the service, clients can manage email server storage and strengthen security for both internal and external file sharing.
ASD Technologies has recently been accepted to the Russian government’s prestigious Skolkovo program for the country’s most promising technology companies. ASD Technologies has secured a number of other major partnerships around the world. Some of these include Softbank, Russia’s top mobile operator (Megafon), Turkey’s largest OEM (Vestel) and China’s Huawei. These partners provide Cloudike solutions for their customers, often bundled as a value added service together with their own offerings.
