Mashup Angles has officially changed its name to ‘MASHUP VENTURES’
Mashup Angles(매쉬업엔젤스), an investment firm focused on early stage startups, has changed its name to Mashup Ventures(매쉬업벤처스). In line with changes in the startup investment ecosystem, Mashup Ventures plans to expand its investment scale and focus on investing in the AI/SaaS sector with partners who are former founders of tech startups.
Last year, Mashup Ventures launched a new $20.7 million (KRW27.5 billion) Mashup Angles Value Growth Venture Investment Fund, and will expand its investment base this year through this new fund. It has increased its investment size from $225.6 million (KRW 300 million) to up to $376 million (KRW 500 million) and plans to actively participate in follow-on investments.
To expand its investment capabilities and strengthen its expertise, Mashup Ventures has also added a number of partners from global technology startups. The new partners are Eunwoo Park, former CSO of Nearthlab, Brian Yoo, former COO of Moloco, and Seungkook Lee, former CPO of Publy. Mashup Ventures will focus on startups in the AI/SaaS space and help its portfolio companies go global. All of the current partners at Mashup Ventures are former startups themselves, allowing them to provide expert guidance to founders.
Mashup Ventures also plans to further strengthen the Mashup Value Growth Programme, a growth support programme for portfolio companies. Mashup Ventures will strengthen its investee support, which is one of its core competencies, and actively support its portfolio companies in their rapid growth and scale-up strategies through its trusted network of non-partners in the startup industry.
“This name change is the first step in our transformation into an AI-ready investment firm based on more than a decade of early-stage investment expertise,” said Taekkyung Lee, CEO of Mashup Ventures. “We will continue to be a professional partner to founders while maintaining Mashup’s founder-first philosophy.”
Founded in 2013, Mashup Ventures specialises in early-stage investments in the internet and software sectors. The firm is a TIPS and deep-tech TIPS operator and has made early-stage investments in more than 160 startups, including Bucketplace (Today’s House), Nudge Healthcare (Cashwalk), Finda, MyRealTrip, Shiftee, Lion Rocket and Fairy.
