Spend Less and See More with Seoul Travel Pass(서울 트래블 패스) 2.0
“Spend Less, See More” with Seoul Travel Pass 2.0, a mobile sightseeing city pass application. Seoul Travel Pass is not a typical travel app that simply features tourist attractions or provides hotel booking services. It is a one-stop platform for tourists in Seoul to customize their trip while saving both time and money.
Seoul Travel Pass enables its users to purchase discounted admission tickets in advance to numerous tourist attractions in Seoul. The service is available on both the mobile and the web. Once the user selects a tourist site available via the service, he or she can buy the pass and either print it or download it on to the app. When he or she arrives at the site, the user does not need to wait in line to purchase a ticket. The pass also offers a discount up to 50% to more than thirty attractions in Seoul.
In addition to the prepaid admission pass service, the updated version now offers a categorized menu system, which allows for easier and faster ways of making the most out of their stay in Seoul. The app now offers four different services-the three new services of mobile coupons, travel package relay services, and affordable hotel booking services as well as the already existing prepaid admissions pass. The newly added features allow for further customization for the users.
Targeted at foreign tourists in Korea, the service is currently offered in three different languages–English, Japanese, and Chinese. The app is especially popular to tourists from China, which makes up about 65% of the Seoul Travel Pass users.
Unlike other travel apps like My Real Trip and ZaiSeoul which offers information on attractions, travel itineraries, or hotel booking services, Seoul Travel Pass allows its users to conveniently customize their travel by planning specific parts of the itineraries. Unlike services that offer only one or two of specialized app features, Seoul Travel Pass combines them all, offering a one-stop application for tourists.
The new discount coupon service will go under two month beta period to test the potential. In September, about 150 users have used the coupon at the N Seoul Tower, one of the top attractions in Korea, a promising sign to the beta program. Seoul Travel Pass also established a partnership with the discount site HotelsCombined to offer a lodging booking system that is cheaper and easier than its competitors.
Inho Bae, the CEO of Seoul Travel Pass’ service provider Travolution, has high hopes for the app: “Number of non-traditional tourists is increasing in Korea. We aim to work with our partnering companies to grow and develop an one-stop platform for the travelers in Korea.”
